I have never practiced Yoga. Which class should I take?
We welcome new students in all our of classes. However, students should be aware that some classes are more physically challenging than others and some classes are more gentle. Slow Flow Vinyasa is accessible to most students and usually recommended for beginners.
What do I need to bring for class? What should I do before class?
We recommend bringing a mat and towel for practice. If you do not have your own mat, we have studio mats you can borrow at no charge. If you are a new student, bring your Michigan ID.
Be sure to hydrate before and after practice. It is not ideal to eat a large meal within an hour of practicing.
What do I wear to class?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. Stretchy pants, shorts, tank tops, or tee-shirts would all be appropriate. Shoes must be removed before entering the practice room.
Do I need to pre-register for class?
Pre-registering for class guarantees your spot if class is full. However, we do not require students to pre-register for class. Please be on time and check in at the front desk upon arrival. If you are a new student or need to purchase a package, please arrive 15 minutes early for class.
Do you have yoga mats available for rent?
We have yoga mats that students can borrow at no charge. We just ask that students clean borrowed mats after class before returning to the front desk. Mat spray for cleaning is provided.
Are workshops included in my class package?
Workshops are not typically included in your class package.
Does my class package expire?
Class packages bought at full price expire 365 days after date of purchase (does not apply to Groupon purchases). We do not extend class packages. However, if your package is expiring you can contact the studio and request your expiring classes to be transferred to a new package bought at full price (does not apply to Groupon purchases).
Can I split my class package with my spouse/child?
We do not allow students to transfer classes between accounts.
What kind of class is the Sunday Community Class?
The Sunday Community class is a Slow Flow Vinyasa taught by one of our certified teachers. Each month we collect donations to support a different non-profit organization. We suggest a $5 minimum donation.
How old do I have to be to attend class?
We do not have age restrictions in classes. However, students under 18 years of age must have parental consent and signature. Students under 12 years must have a parent or guardian present during class. Younger children attending classes should be able to focus, stay on their mats, and not be a distraction to other students in the classroom. Students who cause a disruption might be asked not to return.
